Dear Dr. Shaggy,

On the 6 Mar 2002 at 13:27 you killed my cat. Why did you do that? I still don’t understand it. I’m writing you now in the hope it will become clear.

The answer you gave had to be put aside, in a separate category: ‘other

(If you don’t remember your answer, the search engine at the bottom of the page can find it for you, if you type shaggy@drshaggy.com as a keyword)

Others killed my cat out of hate, or out of love, some even apologized.

All this was easy to understand and to classify.

The killing was the same, but the words were always different. Do you realize that your words will never be forgotten, now that they have entered my database?…

Isn’t it time now to give me a better explanation?

Well Mouchette,

I’m very sorry about having killed your cat. I too once had a lovely little cat; his name was Flatbush. The reason I killed your cat was because his horrible teeth and ferocious scream drove me to madness. I was not in my right mind when I killed your cat, but I think we both know it had to be done. I’ve been to your web page and seen your cat. I understand the horrible grief you must be experiencing. I invite you to visit my cat online that we might develop a bond that can only result from the shared experiences of two people in such similar circumstances.

With sincerest sympathy for your cat,
Dr. Shaggy
