As Mouchette I wouldn’t have normally associated with this content but the author wrote me to say she took me as an inspiration, so now I see some elements of Mouchette, like the pink flowers. This hyper-sexualization made of internet vintage kitsch is how other people saw Mouchette, but I never never recognize it myself.

Hi Mouchette,
I made an interactive web design piece that was very inspired by you. It’s a satire of the construction of girlhood on the internet, specifically as I experienced it growing up—from the 2010s to the present. This was created for a university interactive media project, which I framed around the themes and aesthetic connotations of contemporary neoliberal post-feminism, as I see it manifest and continue to deteriorate through the trends around me and my own perceptions of femininity.
