Sandrine Bonnaire plays Mouchette in Under the Sun of Satan, (1987) a film by Maurice Pialat. This film is inspired by another book by Georges Bernanos, written in 1926  in which he had created a character called Mouchette, a very different one from La Nouvelle Histoire de Mouchette (1937).
