Stedelijk Collection

DISCOVER THE COLLECTION

History is always in flux, shaped by new and diverse voices and the same is true of art history. To explore this more fully, the Stedelijk is gradually moving towards a fresh, dynamic and thematic presentation of the collection that reflects today’s society. This new strategy offers greater scope to focus on the latest developments in modern and contemporary art and design and to explore diversity and dialogue. Featuring both visual art and design, the new presentation will be completed in three parts. The first of our three collection presentations to be re-structured is art from 1980 to the present. As a sneak peek, the collection display on the second floor was already renewed last September. Here you can discover work by John Baldessari, John Chamberlain, Isa Genzken, Nan Goldin, Rachel Harrison, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Paulina Olowska, Grayson Perry, Pinar & Viola, Makoto Saito, Kai Teung-Kan, Danh Vo and many others.
